The National Air and Space Museum in DC located at 6th and Independence Avenues  is sponsoring a great free event from 10 am-3 pm Saturday:

Family Day: Kites of Asia
Experience the beauty and artistry of kites across Asia from Afghanistan to Vietnam. Explore how kites fly, watch amazing indoor kite-flying demonstrations, and speak with kite experts. Make your own kite to enter in the Annual Smithsonian Kite Festival on the National Mall March 28, 2009.

All Day Activities
10 AM – 3 PM
Make a kite
There will be three different kite stations–make one, two, or all three!
Design a kite flyers headband

All Day Demonstrations
10 AM – 3 PM
View a private collection of pan-Asian kites
See kites from Afghanistan
Explore children’s kites from Asia
Experience Indoor Kite Flying

Scheduled Activities
11 am and 1 pm: Enjoy dance performances by the Washington Korean Dance Company

11:30 and 1:30 pm: Hear the story of a Korean boy and his grandfather in The Best Winds
