Two Inner Harbor attractions, Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium at Baltimore, have great deals and exciting programs this month.
Maryland Science Center
Friday After Five: From 5-8 p.m. on Fridays, admission is just $8 (regularly $14.50 for adults, $10 for children) to its exhibit halls, planetarium, and (IMAX Theater presentations at 7 p.m.). One low price covers everything except national touring exhibitions.
Egg Drop Price Drop Before Noon: Starting in September and ending Dec. 27, visit MSC before noon on Saturdays and get $5 off admission per person and an egg for the group. You’ll be using the egg in the Egg Drop Challenge, where you build a container for your egg and see it survives a three-story drop. Discount valid on base admission only. Please note that the last egg is handed out at 11:30 a.m.
Homeschool programs: Programs for homeschoolers are offered on weekdays, excluding Mondays, through Sept. 26th, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. Enrichment Experiences, IMAX films, Planetarium programs, Learning Lab programming and more are taking place during these exciting home school weeks. The programs are free, but regular admission is charged. Note: The pre-K – 2nd grade classes are sold out, unfortunately, but there are plenty of other classes available.
K’Nex Building Thrill Rides: Coming Sept. 26, this traveling offers hours of entertainment and exciting building fun for the entire family. The exhibit contains a Kid K’NEX building station for children ages 3-5, in addition to the ever popular K’NEX stations for children 6+. This program features building stations filled with K’NEX® and Kid K’NEX® parts. Visitors ages 3+ can try their hand at building models from inculded instructions or from their own imaginations and purchase their creations with pricing based on their models weight.
National Aquarium at Baltimore

Tots & Tales: From 10-11:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 and 24, learn about our aquatic animals through story and song. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with a story reading, followed by a close encounter with one of our animals! Then, kick-back and enjoy children’s musical entertainment. Plus, have the chance to meet Puffin, the official mascot of the National Aquarium, and receive a special Aquarium coloring book! Recommended for children ages 3-5. The program is free, but basic admission is $21.95 for visitors 13 years and older, $12.95 for kids 3-11 years, and free for kids 2 years and younger.
Breakfast with Dora the Explorer: Come join Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer for a special continental breakfast, fun activities, and a free photo from 8-9:30 a.m. Sept. 27-28. Breakfast and activities with Dora are from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., but stick around after to tour the Aquarium and have more fun with Dora! Children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Reservations are required and space is limited. Cost of the program is $40 for nonmembers, $20 for members; admission is extra.
