Hot Pockets recalls pepperoni pizzas

Nestlé Prepared Foods has issued a recall on its Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza frozen sandwich products because of “four consumer complaints of hard red plastic in the Hot Pockets pepperoni pizza sandwiches; no injuries have been reported,” according to WebMD.

The affected products are the 54-ounce, 12 pack cartons of the pepperoni pizza version of the sandwiches. Printed on the side of each carton is “8157544614D,” “EST 7721A,” and “BEST BEFORE JAN2010,” according to the USDA recall notice.

The products were produced on June 5 and distributed to retail establishments nationwide.
