Join us on the sidewalk outside the museums F Street entrance for three days of creative chalk art. Spend Thursday and Friday sketching the afternoon away, but save your best ideas for Saturdays festival, which will begin with a reading of A Piece of Chalk by Jennifer A. Ericsson. Musical performances throughout the day will help inspire everyone. Adults and kids are welcome.

For ages 8-14 with adult. Take a close look at the exquisite layouts and design of pages from the royal albums compiled for the great Mughal emperors Jahahgir and his son Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal, in the related exhibition. Then return to the classroom and use handmade papers to construct an album page in the Mughal style. Bring a 4 x 6″ or 5 x 7″ full-length portrait or group photograph. Free; first come, first served.

Join us for the Maryland Science Center’s 4th Annual Bubble Days. The fun will be bubbling up all over the building-and outside too as we celebrate the art and science of bubbles. Our feature event is internationally famous bubble artist Casey Carle who performs his bubbly brand of humor and artistry in BUBBLEMANIA. We promise you’ll be amazed at what Casey can do with seemingly ordinary soap bubbles. Peformances on our Atrium Stage at Noon, 2 and 4 pm.
