Celebrate Fairfax!

The annual festival hosts tens of thousands of visitors during its three-day run at the Fairfax County Government Center, a 25-acre site magically filled with fascinating sights and sounds as more than 400 exhibitors, vendors, crafters and interactive activities are included in the annual celebration. Nightly fireworks, presented by SAIC, are a highlight of the festival, another great activity for kids is the Inova Train Ride to Good Health, located in County Expo.

Advance daily tickets are available until noon, Thursday. You can purchase advance tickets online or at any Silver Diner restaurant or the Wegmans in Fairfax. Adult tickets are $7.50 and kid tickets for 3-10 years is $5. Carnival rides are NOT included in the price of admission. There will be a $2 service charge for each individual online order, regardless of the number of tickets purchased. All ticket sales are final. No refunds, no exchanges, and no re-entry on ticket stubs.

One must-see for kids is ExxonMobil Children’s Avenue, located at the heart of the Celebrate Fairfax! festival. With a primary focus for those 12 and under, ExxonMobil Children’s Avenue isa playground of interactive activities for the youngest of our guests.  Programs in ExxonMobil Children’s Avenue have a basis in education, fun, and imagination. All activities are interactive, and include a petting zoo, kids climbing wall, musical stage, and “The Garden Railway” model train exhibit.

SciTech Center is an interactive playground of hi-tech (and low-tech!) activities to please all ages. Inside the SciTech Center are a dozen exciting and imaginative activities and exhibits created by some of Northern Viriginia’s best hi-tech companies. Many of the companies who participate design a hands-on application of their product line or services that visitors can try out, i.e. typing without a keyboard, making helicopters, launching hand-made rockets, and taking trivia challenges. Other past activites included how to make slime, building a city of Legos, giving astronaut tests and hosting Virtual Reality NASCAR races.

Celebrate Fairfax! also showcases live concerts on seven stages. Seating for all concerts is general admission. Admission to the festival does get you access to all concerts and entertainment. At the Bud Light Main Stage there are approximately 3,500 chairs for audience members and lots of standing room. We do not permit patrons to bring their own chairs or blankets.
