Foodie fun for kids

giant1.gifHave you seen these? I pick up these free Nickelodeon activity sheets about fruits and vegetables at Giant; today’s featured Sponge Bob and, of course, his pineapple house. On the back is a recipe and tips on how to incorporate the fruit into your child’s diet.

Don’t know if other grocery stores carry these colorful pages, but they’re produced in conjunction with Fruits & Veggies More Matters, a program by the Produce for Better Health Foundation. On the site you’ll find meal-planning tips, kid-friendly recipes and more.

They also produce a very fun Web site for kids, Fruit & Veggie Color Champions.  There, your kids can:

  • upload their artwork of fruits & veggies
  • play online games that appropriate for kids 2-5 and 6-9
  • color sheets online or print them out to color by hand
  • download printable calendar, stickers and activity sheet

Really cute graphics, sure to entertain and educate your preschooler.
