If you know any Fairfax County families with a parent in the military who is deployed overseas, pass this on:
Fairfax County has a program called Kids Serve Too that pays for a child’s registration for a sports or recreation program for up to $250. The voucher, which you can only get once a year, is only good for registration, not equipment or supplies, but the program has information on scholarships that can provide funds.
The voucher can be used to register for a program offered by the county Dept. of Recreation and Community Services, Park Authority, or any county sports league. Separate vouchers must be used for each child in the family; no limit on the number of vouchers.
The program is a partnership among Reston-based Kids Serve Too, Fairfax County, and General Dynamics Information Technology Fairfax Division.
Props to General Dynamics!
