My friend and acupuncturist, Dan Parrish, is trying to form an advocacy group to encourage Loudoun restaurants to offer gluten-free meals. Leesburg Restaurant in downtown Leesburg already accommodates him and others with celiac disease who can’t eat gluten (a protein in wheat, rye and barley), but he’d like to expand the culinary choices. Restaurant owners have told him they’d like to see proof of interest from a sizable number of potential diners, and so he came up with the idea of forming the group. Members who sign up would receive news from the group about Loudoun restaurant and store promotions about gluten-free specials.
